"Kline's Transitional Abstractions, 1946-50" vintage 1974 magazine article by Harry F. Gaugh. The article/magazine clipping was carefully removed from a 1974 art magazine.
The article opens with:
"In contrast to the widely held view that Franz Kline metamorphosed into an abstract artist overnight after seeing his drawings enlarged by an opague projector, there is ample evidence in his paintings of the late '40s that he arrived at his mature style by a careful and gradual evolution of representational subjects into colored planar forms."
The article is 5 pages in length [on 3 sheets of paper] and includes a number of great images within the text. This is an original article/magazine clipping [not a copy or reprint], which was removed from a magazine.
Because the pages are oversized, the article may be folded in half at the time of mailing.
The article was carefully removed directly from a magazine. [The rest of the magazine is not included.]
